Over the years, we’ve been able to spot when someone is buying up fake social media, posting fake reviews and just all-around lying about their business, in the hopes that those reviews will get business started. Unfortunately, a lot of people never understand that it can also hurt you more, as you are exposed as a liar and fraud to your customer base.
FAKE TEXT MESSAGES
Take for example the page on Biryani360.com (http://www.biryani360.com/pages/reviews). First, we have a text message leaving a review of how great the (at the time) non-existent business was.
If you don’t think it’s easy as 1-2-3 to fake THESE types of reviews, you’ve never visited a “fake phone text” website, like iPhoneFakeText. Because it takes less than 30 seconds to get your fake review, and post it to your website. See my example below:
And what about the great articles that were written on Biryani360.com from Forbes (quoted Biryani360 as one of the greatest food-delivery startups) and all these other high-profile newspapers? Well that’s even simple. There is a website called Fiverr.com where you can have people do graphic work for you, at the low-low price of just FIVE BUCKS (yea, $5)! So when you have a website, like Fodey, MakeMyNewspaper or the other 15+ website to make fake newspapers available, you can begin to see how easy faking these things are really easy, don’t you?
Fortunately, we know the graphic editor who did Shayan Italia’s work and he was kind enough to show us the process, and delivered this sample:
Finally, there are reviews that are 100% falsified and made up. All the links do when you click on them, is leads to the website, but not the ACTUAL REVIEW. That’s a great way to say… “Mr. President gave me a 5-star review, here’s his website and just ‘trust me‘ when I say, he said I’m a good guy!”
Here’s the list of reviews that link to nothing, other than the website:
“NOT A” NEWSPAPER REVIEW
These are a list of posts that WE AS AN SEO FIRM submitted for him. These were reviews he handed us from his ‘customers’ and we posted them on high-authority websites like “THE NEWSPAPER SAID IT PERSONALLY“:
PAID FOR GOOD REVIEWS
In the marketing industry, there are people known as, pay-to-reviewers. These are people were paid a good amount of money + gave them free incentives to leave us a positive review on their website or blog:
If you don’t believe Shayan Italia faked all his reviews, see even his first video that GAVE BIRTH TO BIRYANI360. Where Shayan even states, it was a fake video to see if people would buy into it.
Overall, we just want people to know that his reviews should not be used as a basis to determine if this man actually has a good product/service or not. Everything has been faked and it’s really hard to draw the line of where we did our SEO work to post the (what now know are fake) reviews to websites and actual customers that may have enjoyed Biryani360.
We were even given the orders by Shayan to change the dates on the posts so that everything seemed to come from a longer time ago. I mean, Biryani360 has 20+ reviews that are before May 1st 2015, when it officially opened for business. These fake reviews and article dates, range from July 1st 2014 to April 30th 2015. If you see any reviews BEFORE MAY 1ST 2015 for BIRYANI360, they are fake and posted by an SEO firm like us, or paid on Fiverr.com to leave a fake review on their blog.
NOTE: If we knew the reviews were faked, we would have never posted them online. We simply took Shayan Italia for his word and that he was following our Terms of Service, which states: “All reviews must be genuine, any legal actions that come against reviews posted online, all liability will fall upon the Client.” Thankfully, after this entire Shayan Italia scam, we put up new services that allow us to verify the reviews much easier now.
